Wicked Cool Jewelry!

I have had the pleasure of talking to Cadence from Cadence Innovative Designs and had her answer some questions so that we can all get to know her better! Not only are her designs unique with typewriter keys and wire wrapped rings but Cadence is also one of the nicest people you will meet!

This is where you can find her!

1.How and why did you start crafting?-  I have always been making things, particularly art, ever since I can remember. I sold hand drawn Christmas cards as a kid, along with making books and cards, paintings, jewelry, Fabric Art, Clay & Hemp Jewelry, and Caligraphy! I always made sure it was like my own brand and made logos for everything. I don't think any relative or friend I had in all the places I lived as a kid doesn't have something I made for them.

2. Which piece of yours do you feel the most connection with?- Right now I'm feeling the most connected to my decoupaged bracelets. I have always been extremely into collage, and now I can combine that into wearable art! I have always loved books, languages, and maps from moving and travelling a lot, so its great to bring those into it! I am also about to debut some pieces with collaged pieces of my orignal art!

3.
Where do you want your company to be in 5 years?- I hope my company has naturally evolved with where I am in my life. I do feel that it is something that I will always do, and would love to have a store of my own or with others that showcases handmade products.

4. Do you do this full time?- I have been focusing on my business Full-Time now for about 3-4 months. It is so nice to be able to give it as much attention as I've wanted to for my whole life!

5.
Tell us about your work space.- work space--well, let's just say I'm an artist first and a crafter second! No craft-specific gimmicky organizers here, ha ha!! I am working out of our extra bedroom in a much too small space! Hopefully soon, we can find somewhere that will accomodate a home-based business better. For now, my creations and supplies find their way all over the house!

6. What do you do in your free time?- Free time? What is that?--I have never been good at the whole "work-life balance" thing. I'm a bit obsessive. I enjoy doing other kinds of arts and crafts, listening to music, and travelling when I can.

7.
If you could be doing anything else what would it be? - This is finally exactly what I want to be doing! But I would also like to be working more again with art and creative projects with children in the future! I think it helps them gain confidence and deal with emotions and experiences they are going through.

8. Where do you find your inspiration?- I find inspiration from all the different kinds of people I've met and places I've been in my life. I love making things that are new, but have a bit of history to them. I also am inspired to try to make things that are appealing to all ages and kinds of people. I don't like catering only to trends or a certain style.
